Are you on vacation and considering a visit to Bodie Island Lighthouse in Nags Head, NC? If so, then you are probably wondering when the lighthouse and park visitor center are open!

Bodie Island Lighthouse Hours

If you’d like to climb the lighthouse, you must do so between the third Friday in April until Columbus Day. During this time frame, the lighthouse is open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

For the rest of the year, you are not permitted to climb the lighthouse.

If you’d like to climb to the top of the lighthouse, tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for senior citizens (62 years or older), children ages 11 and under, and disabled individuals.

Tickets to climb are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is not an unlimited amount of tickets available! Tickets can only be purchased at the visitor's center on the day of the climb. Sorry, there are no advance ticket sales for regular climbs.

Ticket sales begin at 9:00 am, with climb times running every 30 minutes with a limit of eight visitors per climb. Ticket sales close at 4:30 pm. Ticket holders should arrive at the base of the lighthouse five minutes prior to their ticketed climb time.
