About every rental home and condo on the Outer Banks is privately owned by an individual - or group of individuals - and managed by a local rental company. The managing company handles several things: maintenance, housekeeping, marketing, guest services, pool and spa, laundry, and more. Of course, not every company will provide all of these services, but most will.
Why should you consider assessing the company that manages the home? Because they are responsible for everything! You like renting homes that are clean and well-maintained. If something goes wrong, you want the company managing the house or condo to respond swiftly and resolve the issue, right?

The number of homes listed under each company is an estimate and may not be exact. In addition, this number often fluctuates as homeowners drift from one rental company to the next.
We have divided the Outer Banks into northern, central, and southern sections. North beaches are everything north of Kitty Hawk. Central beaches include Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head. Southern beaches are south of Bodie Island Lighthouse, including towns like Rodanthe, Buxton, Frisco, etc.

Twiddy
In 1978, Twiddy & Company Realtors opened its first office on the Outer Banks in the Village of Duck. In 1982, the business was expanded to include a second office in Corolla. As the company grew, the restored Kill Devil Hills Lifesaving Station was moved to Corolla.
A new building was constructed in 1995 and expanded in 2003. Present-day, Twiddy represents about 1,000 homes, some of which are the most luxurious homes on the Outer Banks. Most of the homes they manage are located on the northern beaches of Corolla and Duck.
