Cafe Lachine Restaurant in Nags Head, NC

 

What started as a catering business has evolved into one of the most highly regarded restaurants in the coastal town of Nags Head. Located in the shadow of the Outer Banks Hospital at milepost 14 off the bypass, Cafe Lachine is a treat for anyone with taste buds.

The establishment is owned by husband and wife team, Johanna and Justin Lachine. The two met while working together in a kitchen over 10 years ago in Virginia Beach, and they now they own their own restaurant, and reside in Manteo.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Cafe Lachine’s menu prices are super reasonable. You do either takeout or dine in. The staff is super friendly and very laid back.

The menu is filled with all natural, locally-sourced dishes that deliver on flavor. There are always a few daily specials to choose from, and they’re usually quite creative and always delicious.

For breakfast, the coffee is hot and rich, and you can’t go wrong with ordering the eggs Benedict that’s always well executed and memorable. The cafe platter is also a good choice, comes with a little bit of everything.

During the afternoon, box lunches are a great value, and typically come with a sandwich or wrap, a cup of soup, a side of fruit and a delicious cookie or brownie. We highly recommend ordering the crab soup if it’s available. The hummus wrap is a great choice as well.

For dinner, you can choose from several seafood options as well as an entree where beef is the star. Of course there are daily dinner specials.

Regardless of what time of day you visit, the prices are always reasonable, especially in comparison to many other restaurants in Nags Head.
