Scoop’s Ice Cream Parlor Restaurant in Nags Head, NC

 

With over two dozen flavors of homemade ice cream to choose from, Scoop’s is the go-to place in Nags Head for something sweet.

This small family-owned and operated business is located in the Jockey’s Ridge Crossing Shopping Center, across the street from the big sand dunes.

In addition to ice cream cones, you can order sundaes, shakes and taffy.

They also have sandwiches and chips on the menu and a cooler that’s stocked with delicious old-fashioned sodas alongside modern favorites.

I recommend the BLT if you’re hungry for lunch. Grilled cheese, ham with cheese, hot dogs and peanut butter and jelly are also available.

There’s a couple small tables just outside to enjoy your dessert or meal at. If you choose to sit outside, you check out what’s going on across the street at Jockey’s Ridge State Park.

If you do decide to go to Scoop’s, be sure to check out Kitty Hawk Kites’ flagship store that’s next door. They’ve got a massive selection kites as well as a toy store and some of the very best souvenirs on the Outer Banks.

Scoop’s is open late, seven days a week during the peak season. Closed during the winter.
